Remarkable Man

My husband is wonderful. Would you like to know what he did for me today? Allow me to tell you. He did all of our laundry by himself. Which, in itself, is a big deal. But add to that the fact that he had to put the laundry in baskets and haul it to my sister-in-law's house since we STILL do not have a washer and dryer and it's an even BIGGER deal. How sweet is that? AND he did it by himself so I could go with my mom to see Becoming Jane and window shop in the mall. I am lucky.

I always knew how great he is (mostly from hearing you talk about him). So glad you and Sue got to see "Becoming Jane". Love

  5. Esperanza, I liked the movie. It has inspired me to read a Jane Austen biography so I can find out how much of it is actually true =-)

  6. I read a Jane Austen bio a while back, and while the events they describe in the movie are true (fell in love, boy sent away because of money) only the general details are known. Her family destroyed most of her letters after she died. The bio I read talked about how they created the myth that is Jane Austen, that they wanted to create this idea of her as proper etc., but that some of what little remains shows she probably had an even more wicked tongue/pen than is evident in her books. Interesting read, if only I could remember the title/author!

  7. OHHHHH Scully, that sounds intriguing. If you think of the title, let me know. It'd be great to read one before I teach Persuasion.

  8. Sorry, Katie, I'm totally drawing a blank. I remember I stumbled upon it in the biography section of the Salt Lake public library and that it had a pink jacket and that one famous portrait of JA. I wish I remembered to write things down. Anyway, I'll will rack my brain some more!
